Two Routes in Pittsburgh

There are two obvious routes for the Erie Pittsburgh Trail in the Pittsburgh Area. The Friends of the Riverfront is committed to providing trails on both sides of the major rivers in Allegheny County. This would include the Allegheny River from Freeport to the Point. At present between Freeport and New Kensington, on the north shore there is no trail while on the south shore there are 4 miles of completed trail, and 1 mile of unfinished (mountain bikeable) trail. Ar present between New Kensington and the point, on the north shore there are xx miles of completed trail and yy miles of marked trail on-road while on the south shore there are xx miles of completed trail.

Feel free to share and use as you wish. I can use your help in improving the data. Either make edits or send me e-mails. If additional reports would be helpful please ask.

Note #1: The mileages above are calculated based on the currently estimated length of the trail as measured on Google Maps. If you have additions or corrections please forward them to Roy, and there will be an updated chart at the meeting and on the website.
